Africa Energy Forum 2010

29 June - 1 July 2010

Basel / Switzerland
The Africa Energy Forum is the largest annual marketplace for the African power sector, providing a venue to both discuss potential business opportunities and finalize project negotiations. Major issues affecting African power are discussed by leading industry figures. Practical examples of the difficulties will be analyzed at the new "Africa Power Deal" executive dialogue at the end of the forum.

The Africa Renewable Energy Forum was launched last year in response to growing interest, which has continued. African governments acknowledge the importance for the continent of embracing renewable energy, and are formating policy to promote its use. Discussion of the effectiveness of policy will feature in the forum, which is of particular relevance given poor sustainability record of many renewable energy projects.
