South Africa: draft Integrated Resource Plan out for consultation

The South African Department of Energy has release the draft IRP2010 for public consultations.
The full set of documents can be found on the dedicated IRP2010 website. The public consultation will take place early November.

Comments on the draft IRP2010 can be submitted till the 10th of November 2010.

The draft IRP has guide the country in its energy mix for the next 20 years and proposes a total installed wind capacity of 4500 MW by 2019 and 600 MW of different solar technologies by the same date. From 2019 to 2030 a total expected uptake of renewable energy is 7200 MW, without an indication of the technologies to be deployed.
