The Working for Energy programme announced its call for proposals to provide support for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency projects in South Africa. Deadline is May 27, 2011. SANERI in conjunction with the Department of Energy invites suitably qualified and experienced project developers to submit innovative and bankable proposals for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects with great potential to create green jobs, to provide local economic empowerment and to generate significant opportunities for local economic activities through the application of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies in South Africa. The working for Energy Programme is funded by the National Treasury through the Department of Energy and hosted by the South African National Energy Research Institute. Project Developers from community development organisations, rural cooperatives, experienced renewable energy and energy efficiency companies and Small to Medium Sized Enterprises seeking support are welcome to apply. Applicants must satisfy key criteria outlined in the Submission Guideline to qualify for the first round of evaluation. Only respondents who submit a fully completed proposal incorporating a detailed business plan in the prescribed business plan format are eligible for evaluation. The prescribed business plan format and submission guideline can be downloaded. All responses must be submitted in the Working for Energy RFP box located in the Foyer of the CEF Office on or before Friday the 27th of May 2011 at 14H00.
