About Hydro4Africa
The Hydro4Africa website was started by Wim Jonker Klunne over ten years ago. Main aim is to bring all information on African hydropower to one internet portal.

Mr. Wim Jonker Klunne is a renowned expert with 25+ years of experience in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector in Africa.
With an academic background in Civil Engineering and Management, Wim has in-depth technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies, combined with strong management skills.
Having worked on a wide range of energy implementation, research and capacity building projects in Africa on behalf of the African Development Bank, the World Bank, IFC, UNDP, GEF, EU, research institutes, national governments, private sector and bilaterals, Wim is able to bring different stakeholders from within and from outside the energy sector together towards achieving a common goal.
From his first exposure to small hydropower in Zimbabwe in the early 1990’s, Wim has been a key proponent of hydropower. To share information on microhydro, Wim started the microhydropower.net webportal in the early 2000's.
To bring together all information and players in hydropower in Africa, Wim started hydro4africa.net, which has grown to be a major information source on this technology
