The African Development Bank (the Bank) invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their Interest in providing services under the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA)’s Africa Hydropower Modernization Program (AHMP) to support the Bank and its clients as consultants for the preparation of: Feasibility study for Floating Solar Project on the Lake Kariba reservoir between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
The services to be provided under the assignment include:
- A desk review and analysis of available documentation and data, site visits, and stakeholder consultation.
- Preliminary feasibility studies for the Kariba site.
- A full feasibility study for the Kariba site outlining (i) technical viability including technical specifications for grid integration, (ii) financial viability, (iii) Incorporating environmental impacts’, including an explicit wildlife impact, study produced under a separate assignment and (iv) socioeconomic aspects of the proposed floating solar PV project to guide ZRA and other local stakeholders in its decision-making process.
- Development of options –financing and business models –for actual implementation of the floating solar PV installation on the Lake Kariba
- Capacity building for the Authority, Two National Power Utilities, and other stakeholders on technical aspects of FSPV integration.
- Supporting the preparation of construction tenders with the aim of attracting, IPP SPVs for BOO or BOOT
The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department invites consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested, eligible consulting firms or associations of consulting firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.).
