11th Hydropower for Today Forum
Initiated by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Ministry of Water Resources, P. R. China (MWR) in 2005, the Hydro Power for Today Forum has been organized by ICSHP for ten times successfully. It has served as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among governments, international organizations, and hydropower experts from both developed and developing countries. It has become an important event in the field of hydropower development, attracting thousands of participants from over 50 countries and 20 international organizations.
The 11th Forum, aiming to promote global clean energy development, enhance the resilience of hydropower systems, and advance the synergy between hydropower and new energy, is specially themed at "Hydropower & New Energy Resilience Synergy". It will be held on 3-4 November 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, concurrently with the 36th African Hydro Symposium (AHS2026), with overlapping sessions in parts of the agenda.
The Forum will bring together experts from a variety of fields related across the world, offering participants an opportunity to share their experience, knowledge and insights on a range of topics:
1. Hydropower Opportunities & Challenges under Climate Change;
2. SHP Innovation & International Standards Development;
3. Hydropower & New Energy Synergy in Practice;
4. Energy Investment & International Production Capacity Cooperation.
