IHA Small Hydropower webinar

This webinar by the International Hydropower Association will focus on the opportunities and challenges in Africa for small hydropower and lessons learned from around the world.

Small Hydropower (SHP) is a mature and versatile technology, effective for providing access to clean and sustainable electricity both in the developing and developed world, particularly in rural areas.
According to the latest report by UNIDO, the World Small Hydropower Development Report, Africa has huge untapped small hydropower potential.

This webinar aims to:

  • raise the profile of SHP as a long-lasting, commercially viable and cost-effective clean technology key to enable rural electrification in Africa;
  • discuss the challenges and opportunities of SHP in Africa, including the role of governments and the private sector;
  • share lessons learned from other SHP projects around the world.
